Hello, in this article, you will learn a technique that will help you a lot. I am showing gold design on wood in this article. You can use any material instead of wood for example you can use cloth textures or stone textures. By practicing and applying the textures you will get more ideas and you can increase your creativity.
Let’ start..
Step: 1 – Take a plane, and unwrap the UV. Add a material. Click on the ‘Material Preview’ mode.
Step: 2 – Go to the ‘Shader Editor’. Add the ‘Mix Shader’ node. Connect the ‘Shader’ of the ‘Mix Shader’ to ‘Surface’ of the ‘Material Output’ node. Add two ‘Principled BSDF’ nodes. Connect the ‘BSDF’ of two ‘Principled BSDF’ nodes to the two ‘Shader’s of the ‘Mix Shader’ node as shown in the below image. Add a ‘Color Ramp’ node. Connect the ‘Color’ of the ‘Color Ramp’ node to the ‘Fac’ of the ‘Mix Shader’ node as shown in the below image node.
Step: 3 – Drag and drop the image which you want the design as gold coated to the ‘Shader Editor’. Connect the ‘Color’ of the image to the ‘Fac’ of the ‘Color Ramp’. Set the ‘Non-Color’ in the ‘Color Space’ in the image texture as shown in the below image.
Step: 4 – Select the above ‘Principled BSDF’, and apply the wood texture images. For applying the images to the ‘Principled BSDF’ go through this article: Click here
Step: 5 – Select the below ‘Principled BSDF’, and change the ‘Base Color’ to similar to the ‘Gold color’. Change the ‘Metallic’ value from 0 to 1. Change the ‘Roughness’ value to 0. Change IOR Level to 1 in the ‘Specular’. See the below image for the values.
Step: 6 – Go to the 3D view to check the object with material. You see the gold design on wood.
