Shortcut of the move tool in Blender is ‘G’. It works effectively in the vertex mode. It works in the edge and face mode also but sometimes it works and sometimes it does not work. Try the given below steps for face and edge also, you can understand how they are moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s see how many ways we can use ‘G’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the ‘Object Mode’, we are using the G and G + X or Y or Z to move the object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Click ‘G’, now you can move the object to anywhere on the grid, below the grid, above the grid, or place where you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. When you want to move the object only on the x-axis then click ‘G’ and ‘X’. The Object moves on the x-axis only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. When you want to move the object only on the y-axis then click ‘G’ and ‘Y’. The Object moves on the y-axis only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.  When you want to move the object only on the z-axis then click ‘G’ and ‘Z’. The Object moves on the z-axis only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Till now, we moved the object in the object mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now we are going to move the vertex in the edit mode using the ‘G’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, we are going to use G + G + Along the edge or G + G + X or G + G + Y or G + G + Z.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click ‘G + G’, and move the vertex along the edge as shown in the below image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click ‘G + G + X or Y or Z’, and move the vertex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
