Blender G vs Alt+G

Blender G vs. Alt + G: What’s the Difference?
In Blender, keyboard shortcuts can significantly enhance your workflow. Two essential shortcuts that every 3D artist should know are G and Alt + G.

G – Grab and Move

Pressing G allows you to grab and move any selected object. This action is one of the most commonly used in Blender. You can also constrain the movement to a specific axis by pressing G followed by X, Y, or Z.
For example:

  • G + X moves the object along the X-axis.
  • G + G slides the object along its local axis (which is useful for edges in Edit Mode).
Alt + G – Reset Location

If you make a mistake or want to reset the object’s position?
pressing Alt + G will clear its location and snap the object back to its original position (usually the origin or where it was last applied). This shortcut is extremely helpful if you’ve accidentally moved something or want to reset your layout.
